Detection of Pulsed X-ray Emission from Psr B1706−44
We report the first detection of pulsed X-ray emission from the young, energetic radio and gammaray pulsar PSR B1706−44. In a 47 ks observation with the High Resolution Camera on-board the Chandra X-ray Observatory we find a pulsed signal at a frequency consistent with the radio ephemeris, f = 9.7588081± 0.0000027 Hz (at epoch 51585.34104 MJD). The broad, single-peaked pulse profile has a pulse...

We report on the detection of PSR 1706-44 in two ROSAT-PSPC observations. The recorded source counts are unpulsed with a 2 pulsed fraction upper limit of 18%. Spectral analysis did not distinguish between black-body and power law models; however, we argue that the lack of pulsations and the similarity in the pulsar's spin parameters to those of the Vela pulsar favour a power law model dN=dE / E...
متن کاملNustar Hard X-ray Observations of the Energetic Millisecond Pulsars Psr B1821−24, Psr B1937+21, and Psr J0218+4232
We present Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array (NuSTAR) hard X-ray timing and spectroscopy of the three exceptionally energetic rotation-powered millisecond pulsars PSRs B1821−24, B1937+21, and J0218+4232. By correcting the NuSTAR on-board clock for phase and frequency drifts between observation intervals, we are able to recover the intrinsic hard X-ray pulse profiles of all three pulsars wit...
متن کاملThe Chandra Observations of the Two Pulsars PSR 0628 - 28 and PSR 1813 - 36
PSR 0628-28 is an X-ray emitting radio pulsar which was observed with Advanced CCD Imaging Spectrometer (ACIS) on board Chandra on 2001 November 04 and on 2002 March 25 for 2700 s and 17000 s, respectively. The source countrate was 0.0111±0.0008cps. We detected pulsations consistent with the radio frequency of f = 0.80370338 ± 0.000059 at a pulsed fraction 25.4%±%2 making PSR 062828 to be the l...
متن کاملOBSERVATIONS OF PULSARS , PSR 1509 − 58 AND PSR 1259 − 63 , BY CANGAROO 3 . 8 m TELESCOPE
The data for VHE (∼TeV) gamma rays from young gamma-ray pulsar PSR1509-58 observed in 1996 with the CANGAROO 3.8mČerenkov imaging telescope are presented, as well as the additional data from March to June of 1997. The high spin-down luminosity of the pulsar and the plerionic feature around the pulsar observed with radio and X-rays suggest that VHE gamma-ray emission is quite likely above the se...
